Development Meeting – Kilimanjaro

A transnational meeting was held in Moshi between 11th and 17th of February 2024 and was organized by The Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College.

During the meeting, members of the project group worked together on a pedagogical model which will form the basis for the educational scenarios and strategies prepared by the sub-Saharan African partners.

While in Tanzania, we had the opportunity to visit the university campus and experience Tanzanian culture, wildlife and cuisine.

AGENDA

Project kick-off meeting – Lisbon and Coimbra

The inaugural meeting of the project “InfPrev4frica: Capacitating Sub-Saharan African HEI's to Educate Nursing Students for Sustainable and Innovative Infection Prevention and Control Practices” took place from 16th to 22th of July 2023 in Portugal in cities of Lisbon and Coimbra.

Representatives from seven partner universities had the opportunity to get to know each other personally and to discuss and plan the next steps of the project.

In addition, the guests took the opportunity to visit the premises of Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Lisboa and Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Coimbra, in particular the simulation laboratories.

AGENDA

Project meeting - Mahajanga

On November 19-26, 2024, another international meeting of the Infprev4frica project partners took place - this time organized by the University of Mahajanga in Madagascar.

The main topic of the meeting was the implementation of work packages WP3 and WP4, i.e. analysis of the pilot and development of the InfPrev4frica pedagogical model and evaluation of simulation scenarios prepared by partners from the Universities of Sub-Saharan Africa, regarding the prevention and control of nosocomial infections in selected nursing procedures based on current global guidelines. During the meeting, activities regarding the dissemination and promotion of the project on social media were also discussed. Each day of work was accompanied by discussions, exchanges of views and experiences, confirming cultural differences, hardware resources, limitations/potential, possibilities and expectations, which translate into the final shape both in terms of the InfPrev4frica pedagogical model and the implementation of 12 simulation scenarios (3 of each University). During our meeting, we also visited the Nursing Faculty at the University in Mahajanga, where we had the opportunity to assess the real potential and resources of the University and the equipment purchased as part of the project for medical simulation rooms.
